I maintain a project studio for composition, recording, and mixing.
Composition
It all starts with synthesizers–hardware and software, analog and digital–some of which I’ve helped to develop during my time at Korg R&D. There are also guitars, basses, a marimba, drums, collections of snares and cymbals, hand drums, and drawers full of percussion “toys.” A MIDI-controlled acoustic piano is in a separate room.
Recording
The studio provides 24 channels of high-definition analog audio inputs, world-class mic preamps and DIs, and a wide selection of high-end microphones, combined with a quiet, acoustically isolated, and well-treated room.
Mixing
It’s a pleasant place to mix, with an extensive collection of plug-ins running on a beefy 20-core Mac Studio Ultra and a few select pieces of outboard gear, with high-end monitoring and hands-on moving-fader automation in a quiet, acoustically controlled environment.
